Agricultural company Joeunsul Sejong Co. said on the 21st that its flagship product "I am the Moon" won the grand prize in the Korean traditional liquor liqueur category at the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards 2026. It is the second straight year after last year.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading liquor evaluation event, now in its 13th year. With the goal of "discovering and widely promoting good domestic liquor and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies, which submitted a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic evaluation events that cover comprehensive liquor. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
The award-winning "I am the Moon" is a liqueur based on the distilled soju "Ido," made with eco-friendly organic rice and pure native yeast. It combines domestic apple, grape, and strawberry with blood orange and mango concentrates to deliver a sweet taste, fruity aroma, and clean finish.
The alcohol content is 17%. It can be mixed with sparkling water and enjoyed as a highball, or blended with spirits like a cocktail. When frozen, it offers a sherbet-like texture, allowing for various ways to drink it.
A Joeunsul Sejong Co. official said, "We hope this grand prize will help expand exports beyond Taiwan and Australia, where we are currently exporting, to more overseas markets."
