SSG.com will hold a discount event on infant and children's goods ahead of Children's Day.
SSG.com said on the 20th it will hold a three-day "Infant and Children GIFT 3 DAYS" event through the 22nd, offering discounts on toys, fashion, and baby products.
During the event, it will offer coupons for up to 12% off that can be applied to infant and children's products at Shinsegae Mall and Shinsegae Department Store Mall. Customers can get an additional statement discount of up to 8% when paying with an event card.
At 11 a.m. on the 22nd, it will also run a live commerce broadcast for the Swiss kickboard brand "micro Kickboard." By stacking the instant discount, broadcast-only coupons, and card statement discounts, shoppers can buy at prices up to 27% off. A free-gift offer and a purchase-verification event are also prepared.
SSG.com prepared this event to reflect that demand for Children's Day gifts was pulled forward this year due to the early May holidays. In fact, from the 1st to the 15th of this month, sales of infant and children's toys and clothing showed a sharp increase from a year earlier.
By category, toys for outdoor activities stood out in growth. Sales of infant and children's bicycles and kickboards roughly doubled from a year earlier, and sales of ride-on toys such as the Boong Boong Car rose 55%.
Indoor toy sales also increased. Sales of developmental and infant toys jumped 97%, and block toys and plush dolls grew 45% and 28%, respectively.
Clothing sales also climbed on stronger demand for going out. Sales of children's pants and shirts/blouses rose 63% and 34%, respectively, and sales of infant outerwear and top-and-bottom/cody sets increased 69% and 34%, respectively.
