Haemil Trading, a trade corporations that imports and distributes livestock products and alcoholic beverages, said on the 14th that the Irish whiskey brand "TIPPERARY" won the grand prize in the Irish single malt whiskey institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
Marking its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading alcoholic beverage tasting event. With the goal of "discovering good domestic drinks, promoting them widely, and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014.
This year's event saw 260 companies submit a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic tasting events that cover general alcoholic beverages. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
TIPPERARY is a whiskey brand produced on a farm in Ireland's Tipperary region. It operates on a single estate method, conducting the entire process from barley cultivation to distillation, aging, and bottling at a single farm. In particular, it follows a terroir-centered approach that discloses the origin of raw materials and the production process.
A Haemil Trading official said, "We are pleased to share TIPPERARY's craftsmanship with Korean customers," and added, "We will continue to help raise the level of Korea's drinking culture through sincere brands like TIPPERARY."
