Diageo Korea said on the 13th it will release Diageo's limited-edition single malt whisky "Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old" in Korea.
According to Diageo Korea that day, only two bottles of this product will be offered in Korea. Inspired by the natural environment where the rugged volcanic terrain of Scotland's Isle of Skye, home to the Talisker distillery, meets the sea, this single malt whisky is limited to 622 bottles worldwide.
The most notable feature of "Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old" is its cask, processed using volcanic rock from the Isle of Skye. Unlike the common method of exposing it directly to fire, the cask interior is slowly toasted by the radiant heat of heated volcanic rock, while steam maintains moisture, drawing out the whisky's deep and complex fruit aromas. You can sense the maritime notes symbolizing Talisker and the spicy kick of chili pepper, with sweetness and a subtle smokiness that linger long and warm.
The bottle of Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old is made from 100% recycled glass for sustainability, and the stopper also uses 90% recycled glass. A black gradient design evokes the deep sea and lava rock. The hand-crafted stopper, inspired by obsidian, adds a unique character to each bottle.
Shin Hye-jeong, executive director overseeing luxury at Diageo Korea, said, "Talisker Magma 47-Year-Old is a limited-edition single malt with high rarity that distills the natural elements of the sea and volcanoes of the Isle of Skye, where Talisker was born, into its production method, flavor, and package," adding, "By layering fruit aromas and spice onto Talisker's signature maritime smoke, it will offer a special experience to whisky aficionados and luxury collectors."
