Nostalgia Hanok Hotel said on the 9th that the premium distilled spirit "Bukchon Soju" won the top prize in the distilled soju category (26% or more and under 31%) at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
Bukchon Soju is a premium soju developed based on the traditional sentiment and aesthetics of Bukchon in Seoul. It is a brand researched and developed by Nostalgia Hanok Hotel, characterized by a modern reinterpretation of Korea's traditional craftsmanship.
Without using synthetic additives or nuruk, it was fermented solely with 100% Korea-grown yeast and then aged for about two months in onggi, a traditional vessel. Through this, it delivers a deep and balanced flavor and is said to have secured competitiveness in the premium distilled soju market.
Bukchon Soju is served as a dinner drink for global VVIP guests visiting Nostalgia Hanok Hotel. It is also being introduced as a pairing beverage at fine-dining venues such as La Yeon, a Michelin 2-star restaurant at THE SHILLA Seoul, expanding its presence in the gastronomic market.
The product design, inspired by Korea's traditional ceramics—buncheong ware and white porcelain—realizes restrained curves and the beauty of blank space. Beyond a simple alcoholic beverage, it is used as an objet and a Korea-symbolizing gift for overseas dignitaries and cultural and gastronomic figures.
