Liquor import corporations Y&K Associates said on the 7th that the premium tequila "Hacienda de Tepa Reposado Black" won the grand prize in the spirits tequila gold institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards. It follows last year's selection of "Hacienda de Tepa Blanco" for the grand prize, marking a second straight year of honors.
Now in its 13th year, the Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's representative liquor competition. With the goal of "discovering good domestic liquor and promoting it widely, and supporting the formation of a sound liquor culture," ChosunBiz has held it annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies, which submitted a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions covering general liquor. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
Hacienda de Tepa is a premium tequila brand produced in the Jalisco region of Mexico. The "Reposado Black," which won the grand prize this time, is a tequila made from 100% blue agave and applies a differentiated aging method to the traditional reposado process. In particular, adding charred wood inside the oak barrel gives it a dark brown hue.
A Y&K Associates official said, "It is very meaningful to win for the second consecutive year with 'Reposado Black,' which is already highly regarded locally in Mexico, following last year's 'Blanco,'" adding, "We plan to continue promoting differentiated premium tequila and expanding the market."
