GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, said its "Hejaroun dessert series" surpassed 1 million in cumulative sales about a month after its launch.
The "Hejaroun dessert series," which made its debut on the 6th of last month, is sold at a flat price of 1,500 won. Centered on classic items such as sweet red bean bread and castella, the lineup has expanded to four products since launch.
Among them, ▲ Hejaroun soboro peanut cream bread ▲ Hejaroun sweet red bean cream bread ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in sales within GS25's general bread category. Unlike typical desserts that show short trend cycles, this series has maintained steady sales momentum and established itself as a long-term hit, the company said.
Customers were evenly distributed from their teens to their 50s. Unlike typical desserts favored by the teens and 20s demographic, the combination of a reasonable price and familiar flavors secured balanced demand across all age groups, according to the analysis.
Buoyed by the popularity of the "Hejaroun dessert series," GS25 will launch a new product on the 8th, about a month earlier than originally planned. The new "strawberry stick bread" features a fluffy bread texture with tangy strawberry cream; strawberry pieces are added to the cream to further enhance texture and flavor.
Jeon Yong-seong, GS25 dessert team MD, said, "We believe that emphasizing overwhelming value for money amid high inflation led to consumer choice," adding, "We will continue to introduce dessert products that combine both price and quality competitiveness."
