Convenience store CU said on Apr. 6 it will run a promotion through April offering 50% off all ready-to-eat meals on weekdays in the morning and all day on weekends. On weekdays, the 50% discount applies from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., and on weekends, all ready-to-eat items are 50% off with no time restrictions.
The discount cap is 5,000 won. On weekdays, there is no limit on the number of times when paying with Toss PayPay, and on weekends, the benefit can be used once per day. Also, regardless of time or day, lunchboxes and kimbap, and sandwiches and salads are discounted by 30% and 40%, respectively, when using designated payment methods.
CU is also launching two varieties of "get Morning mini kimbap" (katsu fish cake and Chungmu).
Kim Bae-geun, head of the ready-to-eat foods team at BGF Retail, said, "As ingredient and dining-out prices continue to rise, demand for convenience store ready-to-eat meals with reasonable prices and diverse assortments is continuing this year as well," and added, "We will continue to strengthen tangible customer benefits through tailored product planning and promotions based on in-depth analyses of customer needs."
