Convenience store 7-Eleven said on Apr. 5 that it has rolled out two additional ready-to-eat meals in collaboration with Chef Jung ho-young. After the "Seven Select Jung ho-young Takamatsu Udon," released last month, sold 200,000 units within two weeks, the company decided to release additional products on the back of that momentum.
The newly unveiled additional collaboration products are two items: ▲ Jung ho-young tteokgalbi & ugeoji hangover soup bapsang lunchbox ▲ Jung ho-young spicy chili charcoal barbecue kimbap. The Jung ho-young tteokgalbi & ugeoji hangover soup bapsang lunchbox pairs fire-grilled tteokgalbi with ugeoji hangover soup, while the Jung ho-young spicy chili charcoal barbecue kimbap features a spicy barbecue sauce for its distinctive flavor.
To mark the launch of the new products, promotions such as discounts will also be offered. Through the 30th, the Jung ho-young tteokgalbi & ugeoji hangover soup bapsang lunchbox is 20% off when paid with a NongHyup card and Naver Pay Money or by bank account. Also, through the 7th, purchasing this product comes with a free "Sunkist Sparkling Zero (500 ml)." The Jung ho-young spicy chili charcoal barbecue kimbap is available at a 50% discount when purchased together with "Chilsung Cider Zero (500 ml)."
Shin Ji-eun, MD of the processed foods team at 7-Eleven, said, "Jung ho-young Takamatsu Udon is the result of capturing both the 'authenticity of taste' and the 'value of experience' that consumers want within the product," adding, "As the chef collaboration strategy can guarantee both taste and buzz for consumers, it will serve as an opportunity to raise the quality standards of convenience store food going forward."
