Domino's Pizza said on the 2nd that it will run a collaboration campaign with the popular characters "Pat and Mat."
Domino's Pizza said the collaboration campaign with the "Pat and Mat" IP was planned to expand touchpoints with Millennials and Gen Z, following last year.
Pat and Mat first appeared in 1976 and have remained popular to this day. Domino's Pizza said it decided to proceed with the collaboration because it judged there was a connection with its recently launched new menu, the "American Classic duo" (Double Meat Jalapeño Pizza and Grilled Patty Cheeseburger Pizza). Paired as Mat for Double Meat and Pat for Grilled Patty, the product names and character names align well, and the symbolic colors for each character (red, yellow) match the red of the Double Meat Jalapeño Pizza and the yellow of the Grilled Patty Cheeseburger Pizza, according to Domino's Pizza.
As part of the collaboration campaign with "Pat and Mat," Domino's Pizza will, for the month of Apr., open a "Pat and Mat" pizza branch on its official social media channels and present content introducing the various situations that unfold there and the new menu items. It will also produce "Pat and Mat" pizza boxes and posters.
A Domino's Pizza official said, "We planned and carried out this collaboration because the familiar and classic traits of 'Pat and Mat,' which have long been loved around the world, pair well with Domino's Pizza's spring new menu this year, the 'American Classic duo,'" adding, "We hope you fully enjoy small everyday pleasures this Apr. through Domino's Pizza's cheerful 'Pat and Mat' content and delicious pizzas."
