The premium apple spirit "Oak Spirit" from domestic apple-cider specialist brewery "Dancing Cider" won the grand prize in the distilled spirits category for the second consecutive year at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
Oak Spirit said on the 2nd that after winning the top honor, "Best of the Best," at last year's awards, it again won the grand prize this year, proving its quality competitiveness.
It also posted results on the global stage. Oak Spirit won a bronze medal in the brand category at the United Kingdom's spirits competition IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition) 2025, raising the profile of Korean apple spirits.
Oak Spirit is characterized by a clean taste achieved through meticulous control from apple fermentation to the base mash stage, distillation, and aging. The freshness of the fruit distillate is complemented by vanilla and woody notes from oak aging for a balanced flavor.
Located in Chungju, North Chungcheong, Dancing Cider established itself in the fruit wine market with apple cider made from Korean apples and is expanding into distilled spirits such as Oak Spirit and Apple Spirit.
Recently, it has been accelerating overseas expansion with so-called K-apple brandy. In the first quarter of this year, it carried out the first exports of Apple Spirit and Oak Spirit, and it plans to enter the North American market in the second half.
