Jeong Ji-young, CEO of Hyundai Department Store, said on the 26th, "We will further elevate customer experience at core stores and completely revamp the online mall to build a new form of omnichannel that organically achieves consolidation of online and offline."
At the 24th regular shareholders meeting held on the 26th at the WOOJIN Building in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, Jeong said, "We will preemptively respond to a business environment where uncertainty is growing due to global tariff barriers and geopolitical risks, and establish a foundation for sustainable growth."
As a mid- to long-term growth strategy, the company proposed expanding scale by opening new stores. Jeong explained, "We will open 'The Hyundai Busan' in Busan Eco Delta City in 2027, and in 2028 we plan to unveil a premium outlet in Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang," adding, "In 2029, we will open the next-generation complex platform 'The Hyundai Gwangju' in Gwangju Metropolitan City to secure a new growth engine."
All agenda items submitted to the shareholders meeting that day were approved as originally proposed. The main items were: ▲ approval of the financial statements for the 24th fiscal year ▲ amendments to the articles of incorporation, including deletion of provisions excluding the cumulative voting system ▲ approval of cancellation of treasury shares ▲ appointment of directors ▲ appointment of members of the audit committee ▲ appointment of outside directors to serve as audit committee members ▲ approval of the limit on directors' remuneration.
Jeong also said, "Through continued ESG management practices, we earned an integrated A+ rating for three consecutive years in the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability evaluation," adding, "We will continue responsible management based on mutual growth with customers, shareholders, and local communities."
