Franc Beausejour Bordeaux Rouge, imported by wine importer Yeonil Liquor, received Best of 2026 after recording the highest score in the Old World red wine institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading comprehensive tasting event, now in its 13th year. With the goal of "discovering and promoting good domestic alcoholic beverages and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies, which submitted a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic tasting events that cover all categories of alcohol. Of these, 449 brands received the grand prize.
Franc Beausejour Bordeaux Rouge is a wine made by the Glotin family, which has produced wine for three generations in Graves de Vayres in eastern Bordeaux, France. Made from grapes grown in gravel-clay mixed soil, the wine blends Cabernet Franc to highlight both structure and balance. Notably, after stainless-steel tank fermentation, it is aged in French oak barrels, harmonizing fruit aromas with oak notes.
The wine shows a clear, deep ruby color. Freshness and high density are in balance, pairing well with roasted meats such as lamb, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses. Third-generation winemaker Yves Glotin said, "Our goal is to bring out the character of the Bordeaux terroir that our family has carried on to the fullest," adding, "Franc Beausejour captures the gravel soils and climate of Graves de Vayres as is, showing a wine with a well-balanced structure and abundant fruit aromas."
