Mir Atto Shine Muscat sparkling wine, released by Geumyong Nongsan Winery in Yeongdong County, North Chungcheong, and made with 2023 Shine Muscat grapes, won Best of 2026 in the our traditional liquor Korean wine institutional sector at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading liquor competition, now in its 13th year. With the goal of "discovering good domestic liquor, promoting it widely, and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has hosted it annually since 2014.
This year's event drew 260 companies submitting a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions that cover general liquor. Of these, 449 brands won the grand prize.
The Mir Atto Shine Muscat sparkling wine is characterized by fermenting Shine Muscat, a premium green grape variety, at low temperatures and then adding carbonation in a pressure tank to emphasize refreshment.
With an alcohol content around 5%, it is relatively low and easy to enjoy, and its strength lies in a refined taste that balances acidity and sweetness. Geumyong Nongsan Winery said it aimed for a "daily sparkling wine" that can be enjoyed in a variety of situations, such as an aperitif, a digestif, or light gatherings.
It features tropical fruit aromas such as lychee, melon, and pineapple, blended with Shine Muscat's distinctive green grape scent, accented by floral notes, honey, and spice nuances.
Geumyong Nongsan, which handled production, is a farm-based winery that has produced wine since 2013 and has showcased products highlighting the unique characteristics of grape varieties. Mir Atto means "gift of the dragon," and the brand offers a diverse wine lineup.
