Korea Seven, a Lotte Group affiliate that operates the Seven-Eleven convenience store chain, said on the 24th it has named Kim Dae-il, head of Secta9ine at Sangmidang Holdings (formerly SPC Group), as the new CEO. Secta9ine is Sangmidang Holdings' affiliate specializing in information technology (IT) and marketing solutions.
After working at A.T. Kearney and Bain & Company, the appointee served as an executive in charge of global business at Naver Line and as head of the Indonesia subsidiary. Kim also served as global head of overseas business at the Fintech company Ascend Money. Ascend Money is an affiliate of CP Group, Southeast Asia's largest conglomerate that operates Seven-Eleven in Thailand.
Korea Seven said, "Kim is regarded as a driving leader with expertise in management strategy and the Fintech and IT fields, backed by diverse domestic and overseas business experience," adding, "Based on experience leading businesses at home and abroad, the company plans to establish a solid, efficient management framework and focus on securing the convenience store's fundamental competitiveness through business direction design and digital tech innovation."
