The Mirato Shine Muscat sparkling wine, which uses 2023 Shine Muscat grapes released by Geumyong Nongsan Winery, won Best of 2026, given to the best Korean wine of the year at the 2026 Korea Wine & Spirits Awards. A total of 25 Korean wines won the grand prize.
The Korea Wine & Spirits Awards is Korea's leading comprehensive liquor competition, now in its 13th year. With the aim of "discovering and widely promoting good domestic liquor and supporting the formation of a sound drinking culture," ChosunBiz has held it annually since 2014.
This year's event saw 260 companies submit a total of 1,118 brands. It is the largest among domestic competitions that cover all categories of liquor. Of these, 449 brands received the grand prize.
The Mirato Shine Muscat sparkling wine submitted by Geumyong Nongsan, located in Yeongdong County, North Chungcheong, features a refreshing profile emphasized by fermenting the premium green grape variety Shine Muscat at low temperatures and then adding carbonation in a pressure tank.
With an alcohol content around 5%, it is relatively low and easy to enjoy, and its strength is a refined taste with a balanced acidity and sweetness.
In addition, Hanbyeol, submitted by 264 Cheongpodo Wine; Godori Rosé, released by Godori Winery; and Blue Port from Yesan Apple Wine Co., Ltd., also received the grand prize.
