SSG.com said on the 18th that it has launched a "Welcome 77% deal," offering up to 77% off popular grocery items for new members of the "SSG 7 Club," and will run it year-round starting on the 19th.
The "SSG 7 Club" is a membership that, for a monthly subscription fee of 2,900 won, gives a fixed 7% back on the payment amount when using SSG Delivery and Star Delivery. It also offers up to 7% off coupons applicable to Shinsegae Department Store Mall and Shinsegae Mall products and free returns for department store mall items. In addition, by paying an extra 1,000 won, members can access OTT service TVING content.
The "Welcome 77% deal" was planned to enhance the initial perceived benefits for new membership customers. SSG.com will select and feature three items each week, including fresh foods, processed foods, and household goods. New members who join during the event period will receive one 77% off coupon per item, and the 7% accrual, a basic membership benefit, will be applied separately.
The first promotional items will be on sale through the 25th. The lineup includes "U.S. Pure Spec high-sugar oranges (1.4 kg)," "Hetbahn (210 g*12 packs)," and "Organist Himalayan Pink Salt Body Wash (900 g)," and each item can be purchased in the 2,000–3,000 won range.
SSG.com focused on lowering grocery shopping expense by combining high accrual benefits with tangible discount elements. After institutionalizing member-only special price events, it is also considering planning exclusive products in collaboration with partner brands going forward.
An SSG.com official said, "Customers who sign up this month can enjoy a monthly subscription fee payback for three months and also purchase special 77% off items," adding, "We will expand benefits that can help ease household inflation pressures."
