Coway said on the 18th that it has strengthened its stand-type ice water purifier lineup. The move follows rising demand for ice across various spaces, not just homes, regardless of the season.
Coway rolled out the stand-type water purifier "Ice Stand 5.2" late last year and recently introduced "Ice Stand 3.0." With this, Coway's stand ice water purifier series now consists of four models.
Coway sells stand-type models with ice storage capacities divided into 1 kg, 3 kg, 3.8 kg, and 5.2 kg. The "Ice Stand 5.2," with a 5.2 kg ice storage capacity, is suitable for offices, public facilities, and military units.
The compact "Ice Stand 1.0" was designed to fit comfortably in tight spaces in response to consumer feedback from small businesses that want to use ice.
Daily ice-making performance was also improved. The "Ice Stand 5.2" can produce 20 kg per day, about a 94% increase over the previous model. It can make up to 1,659 ice pieces a day. With rapid ice-making technology, it can produce fresh ice every 12 minutes.
Although the "Ice Stand 3.0" reduced product volume by about 11%, its daily ice-making capacity doubled from before to 13.6 kg. It can produce up to about 1,246 ice pieces per day.
A Coway official said, "We launched home ice water purifiers from ultra-compact to large-capacity last year, and this year we strengthened stand-type models," adding, "We plan to focus on expanding the market."
