Ahead of the special BTS concert to be held on the 21st at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, nearby restaurants and cafes have launched large-scale efforts to welcome customers.
Police expect a crowd of about 260,000 people on the day of the concert. Nearby businesses are preparing free giveaways and discount events to match.
According to related industries on the 17th, restaurants and cafes near Gwanghwamun have prepared sharing or discount events targeting the concert boom.
Gwanghwamun Naengmyeon House "Gwanghwamun Myeonok" decided to provide 1,000 bowls of naengmyeon on a first-come, first-served basis free of charge for fans and citizens visiting the site on the day of the concert.
Paris Croissant's coffee brand "Coffee@Works" at the Ima Building Gwanghwamun branch will target fan sentiment by offering a 20% discount to customers wearing purple items, the concert's symbolic color.
Dining Brands Group's premium meat restaurant "Changgo43" Mugyo branch will operate without a break time and is also considering extending business hours depending on conditions.
The fashion industry also joined customer-welcoming events ahead of the BTS concert. LF Corp. will offer this year's spring-summer (SS) season men's, women's, and kids' products at a 20% discounted price at the Hazzys flagship store in Myeong-dong and at the Lotte Department Store main branch from the 20th to the 22nd, before and after the concert. In particular, the SpaceH Seoul store will change the exterior lighting of the building to purple during the same period and place purple spring-summer season products at the front of the store to add to the festive atmosphere.
Outdoor brand Kolon Sports is also lending support. At its Myeong-dong flagship store "Kolon Sports Seoul," it is running a promotion through the end of this month that gives out key rings and umbrellas based on purchase amount. For purchases of 250,000 won or more, customers receive a Kolon Sports key ring; for 400,000 won or more, they receive a key ring and an umbrella. Store-limited products are also sold at 20% off. To heighten the event mood, from the 20th to the 29th it will offer a 30% discount on purple lineups and trail-running products and place purple items in the store window.
