TeaZen (TEAZEN), a company specializing in health drinks, said on the 12th that total cumulative sales of its stick-type kombucha products have surpassed 700 million units. It comes about eight months after cumulative sales topped 600 million units in Jun. last year.
The powdered stick-type kombucha is a product TeaZen first introduced in Mar. 2019. Selling 100 million units in about eight months after cumulative sales surpassed 600 million in Jun. last year was thanks to last year's launch of "Kombucha Yogurt," which sold more than 12 million units as soon as it hit the market. TeaZen said the product, which cuts sugar and calories—key concerns for modern consumers—while adding probiotics so anyone can enjoy it deliciously and healthily without burden, resonated with all generations.
Large-scale offline events during the peak summer season in the beverage market last year also appear to have had an impact. In Jul. last year, TeaZen ran a large offline advertising campaign at a landmark building in Seoul, and during two months in the summer last year, it also operated a kombucha popup (temporary) zone at Olive Young Daegu Town on Dongseong-ro, the largest downtown shopping street in Daegu.
To mark the achievement of 700 million kombucha units sold, TeaZen plans to run a customer appreciation promotion at the Naver Brand Store and Teazen Mall. At Teazen Mall, starting today, kombucha products (10-stick pack) will be sold at a 1+1 (one plus one) discount. At the Naver Brand Store, starting on the 16th, ▲ Sicilian Pink Lemon ▲ Strawberry Kiwi ▲ Peach products (30-stick pack) will be sold at a 57% discount. A Pink Bottle will also be offered as a free gift.
A TeaZen official said, "We are grateful to customers who always show strong support for TeaZen's various products as the No. 1 kombucha brand," and added, "This year, together with our new kombucha advertising model, TWICE, we plan to widely promote the appeal of healthy K-kombucha to consumers at home and abroad."
