Lotte World Tower said on the 4th that it will begin recruiting participants for the "2026 Lotte World Tower Skyrun (hereafter Skyrun)" starting on the 11th. The race will be held on Apr. 19, and a total of 2,200 people will be selected.
Skyrun is Korea's highest vertical marathon, climbing to the 123rd floor of Lotte World Tower, rising 555 meters, with a total of 2,917 steps. Since its first event in 2017, it has taken root as an event that combines challenge and giving.
This year, a new elite category has been created in which overseas elite athletes and the top three finishers from the past three years compete. The winner will receive a commemorative gold coin weighing 5.55 grams symbolizing the tower's 555-meter height, and the second- and third-place finishers will receive sponsor prizes. Results will be listed in the "Hall of Fame" on the website.
The participation method has also changed. In addition to the existing first-come, first-served registration, a random draw (raffle) will run in parallel. Considering that registration closed within five minutes each time, the opportunity has been expanded. The entry fee is 70,000 won. First-come, first-served registration runs from 11 a.m. on the 11th to 5 p.m. on the 12th, and raffle registration runs from the 13th to the 17th, with winners to be announced on Mar. 20.
Kids Skyrun, in which one guardian and one child participate together, will select 50 teams by lottery and has no separate entry fee. Participants can also join through the "SKY RUN X SIGNIEL SEOUL" package, which includes a Skyrun entry ticket and a stay at Signiel Seoul.
All participants will receive in advance a "Race KIT" consisting of an official Uniqlo T-shirt and duffel bag from the main sponsor, a Zamst knee brace voucher, discount coupons, and more. Finishers will be presented with a "Finisher KIT" containing a medal and towel, Kleenex household goods, a digital finisher's certificate, drinks and snacks.
Among general participants outside the elite category, the top three men and women with the best times will receive prizes including a trophy, 1.23 million won in Lotte gift certificates, a Signiel Seoul dining voucher for two, and a Uniqlo mobile gift card.
Lee Mihyeon, head of the marketing team at Lotte Property & Development, said, "Skyrun is a meaningful event in which about 12,000 people over the past 10 years have experienced together the value of achievement and sharing as they ascended Korea's tallest building," adding, "As participants take on a challenge that pushes their limits, we will do our best in preparations so they can create special memories."
