SPC Samlip said on the 25th it will significantly expand the supply and sales of the second batch of "Samlip cheesecake," which is nine times larger than the initial shipment, to about 300 Costco warehouses across the United States. Samlip cheesecake is a K-style cheesecake made using a Korean manufacturing method.
According to SPC Samlip, the second batch of Samlip cheesecake supplied since Nov. totals about 5 million packs. Since sales began, average sales per store have been more than double the initial batch. Samlip plans to export about 10 million additional packs by July this year.
Earlier, in September last year, SPC Samlip, the first Korean bakery brand to do so, introduced Samlip cheesecake at more than 100 Costco warehouses in the western United States, including San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego. At the time, within three weeks of the launch, an average of about 27,000 packs were sold per day, and the initial shipment sold out completely.
SPC Samlip cites differentiated technology as the secret behind the popularity. Samlip cheesecake captures the unique flavor of cream cheese and a soft, moist texture through a proprietary manufacturing method that combines the Western "baking" technique with the Eastern "steaming" technique. The company said this differentiates it from U.S. desserts and targets local tastes and preferences.
Samlip cheesecake is currently exported to 15 countries, including Vietnam and the Middle East. In Vietnam, it is gaining strong popularity among local consumers through major retail channels such as WinMart and Circle K. In the Middle East, it continues to sell steadily at Carrefour, LuLu Hypermarket and Monoprix. It has also completed entry into FreshCo, a major Canadian supermarket chain, and is on sale. As a result, overseas sales in the second half of 2025 increased by more than 120% from a year earlier.
Building on this cheesecake export performance, the company plans to accelerate its global expansion by adding "Mini Boreumdal" to Costco warehouses across the United States in the first half of this year. An SPC Samlip official said, "We will continue to leverage our mass-produced bread manufacturing know-how to secure high accessibility and quality competitiveness and strengthen our global presence."
