LG H&H said on the 24th that it presented cosmetics from its de-aging solution beauty brand OHUI as a state gift to Brazil President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who visited Korea for the first time in 21 years.
Earlier, on the 23rd, the presidential office gifted President Lula a biography of martyr Jeon Tae-il, a hojagdo (a painting of a tiger and magpies), a Korea national soccer team uniform, and men's cosmetics. The men's cosmetics were OHUI's flagship men's skincare product, the OHUI Meister for Men Fresh three-piece special set. The set includes skin toner, lotion, and cleansing foam.
In a public speech in December last year, President Lula said, "The reason I became handsome is thanks to Korean cosmetics," signaling interest in K-beauty.
President Lee Jae-myung said at a joint press briefing at the presidential office right after the Korea-Brazil summit, "K-cosmetics, which are gaining popularity in Brazil, will win the love of even more Brazilian people."
LG H&H also presented the Hwanyu line of The History of Whoo to leaders from each country at last year's APEC summit in Gyeongju.
An LG H&H official said, "We believe this is an important opportunity that can greatly help our still-early entry into the Latin American market," and added, "We will widely promote OHUI and other LG H&H brands and products to Brazilian customers numbering over 200 million, and establish ourselves as a science-based beauty and health corporations representing Korea."
