Bon Food Service, a group catering and food material distribution corporations, said on the 23rd that it strengthened its nationwide supply chain by purchasing a food material distribution center in Changnyeong, South Gyeongsang.
According to Bon Food Service that day, the purchase is a strategy to maximize the stability and efficiency of logistics operations by moving away from the existing lease model and directly securing its own infrastructure.
Bon Food Service said that, moving beyond its previous role as a TC (transit center) focused on sorting and delivery, it has acquired DC (distribution center) capabilities that allow it to stock large volumes at all times, enabling a more flexible and stable response to rapidly changing food material supply and demand conditions. It expanded its Yeongnam-region logistics base by about more than double compared to before, further strengthening its nationwide third-party logistics (3PL) competitiveness.
The Changnyeong food material distribution center, along with its expansion in size, significantly increased loading and unloading facilities such as berthing docks and platform docks, speeding up inbound and outbound processing. By combining a cold chain system with an advanced WMS (warehouse management system) operating base, it built an environment that systematically manages the freshness and quality of food materials throughout the entire process from inbound to outbound.
Accordingly, Bon Food Service has built a nationwide four-region logistics network spanning Yongin, Gyeonggi; Nonsan, South Chungcheong; Damyang, South Jeolla; and Changnyeong, South Gyeongsang. With the Yongin center as the main hub for the capital area, each regional base is organically connected. As a result, Bon Food Service said it has further solidified a next-day early-morning delivery system nationwide, excluding some island and mountainous areas, while also reducing logistics costs.
