Berra Scoop Creamery, which operates the premium ice cream brand Benson, said on the 23rd that it will open new stores in March in Gangnam, Jamsilsaenae, and Dunchon.
Berra Scoop Creamery is a subsidiary of Hanwha Galleria, and Benson is a premium ice cream brand introduced in Korea by Kim Dong-Sun (37), executive vice president overseeing the future business at Hanwha Galleria, following the premium handmade burger brand "Five Guys." Executive Vice President Kim is the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-youn.
According to Berra Scoop Creamery, the Gangnam Station branch opening this time is a four-minute walk from Gangnam Station. The Jamsilsaenae and Dunchon branches are also known to be in prime station areas with good accessibility. The strategy is to strengthen its position as a premium ice cream brand by targeting both core commercial districts with heavy foot traffic and densely populated residential areas.
A Berra Scoop Creamery official said, "We are actively reviewing openings in a variety of locations," and added, "We will continue to cover both core commercial districts and everyday living areas to let more customers know the premium value of Benson ice cream."
Meanwhile, Benson was recently selected for the Blue Ribbon Survey, a domestic gourmet guidebook.
