SSG.com said on the 20th it will expand the logistics hubs for its instant delivery service "Baro-Quick" to 80 locations nationwide by the end of this month.
Baro-Quick is a service that delivers E-MART store items such as food and household goods within about one hour to the destination by a delivery agency's motorcycle within a 3-kilometer radius centered on the store.
SSG.com, in collaboration with E-MART, provides the Baro-Quick service at 17 locations in the Seoul area, 27 in the Gyeonggi area, 2 in the Gangwon area, 5 in the Chungcheong area, 9 in the Jeolla area, 18 in the Gyeongsang area, and 2 in the Jeju area.
Boosted by expanded logistics infrastructure, Baro-Quick's January sales rose 30% from the previous month. In particular, E-MART's high-quality seasonal fruits and vegetables and meats led overall growth.
Keeping pace with rising Baro-Quick usage, SSG.com is running a "free daytime delivery" promotion through the 26th. During the event, customers who purchase 30,000 won or more between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. each day will receive a free delivery coupon. One coupon per ID is issued per day and can be used on the day of issuance.
Ahead of the new school term, a "new semester prep items" special is also being held. Orders for stationery items for children placed on the SSG.com app's Baro-Quick page can be received quickly.
An SSG.com official said, "We deliver highly reliable E-MART products immediately in fresh condition," adding, "We hope customers will experience the Baro-Quick service through the free delivery benefit."
