Sangmidang Holdings said on the 18th that it carried out a relay sharing campaign for welfare institutions nationwide to mark the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to Sangmidang Holdings, the Happy Volunteer Corps held a "special Lunar New Year holiday event" on the 11th at the Yangjae Senior Welfare Center in Seocho District, Seoul. The Happy Volunteer Corps is a volunteer group made up of employees of Sangmidang Holdings affiliates.
At the event, they served rice cake soup, holiday foods, and Samlip Hopang to 270 seniors in Seocho District. They ran traditional game programs such as a yutnori competition and a holiday hanmadang, and created Lunar New Year memories with a New Year photo zone.
In addition, each affiliate continued product-sharing activities throughout February for a total of 28 welfare institutions near their business sites. SPC Samlip supported a total of about 11,400 products, including Greek Schwein ham sets, cream bread, and yakgwa, to 13 welfare institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gyeongsang, and Jeolla.
Paris Croissant provided about 300 Paris Baguette items, including roll cakes and pound cakes, and rice to four welfare institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon. BR Korea worked with an administrative agency in Eumseong, North Chungcheong, to have employees personally deliver Lunar New Year gift sets to 100 vulnerable local households. Secta9ine, SPC Pack, and SPL also delivered Samlip ham sets and Paris Baguette bakery items to welfare institutions near their business sites and continued volunteering such as caregiving activities.
A Sangmidang Holdings official said, "Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, we carried out volunteering and donation activities at business sites nationwide in the hope that our neighbors would not be left out and could spend a warm time," adding, "We will continue a variety of activities to deliver warmth to local communities."
