SSG.com said on the 11th it will launch a subscription service model linked to the OTT service TVING on Feb. 5. The monthly subscription fee is set at 3,900 won.
The biggest features of SSG Seven Club are its reasonable subscription fee and selectable structure. Customers can choose their preferred membership type each month between the basic plan and the TVING plan. By adding 1,000 won to the basic plan (2,900 won) and choosing the TVING plan, they can watch various entertainment programs and sports games. Existing subscribers who choose the TVING plan can use TVING from the first payment date.
Grocery benefits are provided the same regardless of membership type. When purchasing "SSG delivery (daytime, dawn, Traders)" products, 7% of the payment amount is fixed as rewards. Members can also purchase exclusive grocery items at special prices. In addition, coupons for up to 7% off products on Shinsegae Department Store Mall and Shinsegae Mall are provided. Free returns also apply to Shinsegae Department Store Mall products.
In February, SSG.com will offer new subscribers a one-month subscription fee waiver, a one-month TVING pass, and 5,000 won in grocery credits. Separately, for three months, it will pay back in SSG Money an amount equal to or greater than the monthly subscription fee immediately upon payment.
Subscribers to the TVING plan receive 4,000 won back each month, effectively enjoying grocery rewards and TVING viewing benefits for free. It will also run a lucky draw event offering gold bars and silver bars and a ticket draw event for the movie "Hoppers."
Bang Seung-jae, head of marketing at SSG.com, said, "You can enjoy a membership service that combines practical grocery benefits and OTT content at an affordable price," and noted, "We plan to guide both existing SSG Seven Club members and new customers to choose between the basic plan and the TVING plan."
