Burger King said on the 10th that it will raise the prices of some items, including its signature Whopper, starting on the 12th. The decision is due to the continued rise in raw material prices and other related expense.
According to Burger King, the price adjustment for stand-alone burgers is 200 won. The increase for side menus such as snacks and desserts is set at around 100 won.
With this adjustment, the price of the signature Whopper will rise from 7,200 won to 7,400 won. The Whopper Junior will also go up from 4,800 won to 5,000 won. The price of French fries will also increase by 100 won, from 2,200 won to 2,300 won.
A Burger King official said, "Prices of key imported raw materials such as beef patties, buns, and vegetables have risen sharply, and the burden of costs due to various external factors has increased, making a price adjustment unavoidable," and added, "To minimize the burden on customers, we set the increase below the actual rise in costs."
