Lotte Department Store said on the 8th it will roll out a large-scale discount event targeting foreign consumers for Lunar New Year, China's biggest holiday. This year's Lunar New Year runs for nine days from Feb. 15 to 23.
Lotte Department Store also strengthened content-focused marketing that lets shoppers experience "K-culture" firsthand along with discount benefits. From the 13th to March 3, at the main store, Jamsil store and Busan main store, the first customers who are foreign shoppers purchasing 300,000 won or more in a single day will receive the National Museum of Korea MU:Z thank-you gift, a "Silla's Smile sauce bowl set," on a first-come, first-served basis at each store.
During the same period, it will also run an event giving Osulloc ice cream to the first 1,000 customers who follow Lotte Department Store's account on Xiaohongshu, a social networking service in China, and then visit the tax refund desk at the main store.
It also prepared hands-on events to match rising demand for K-beauty. Customers who take part in a Xiaohongshu mini game will receive a JUNGSAEMMOOL Inspiration makeup voucher. During Lunar New Year, a gift will be offered with Yves Saint Laurent purchases of 300,000 won or more.
In K-fashion, the main store's Kinetic Ground will host a pop-up store for the brand "Setter," showcasing a collaboration collection with the idol group "RIIZE."
Payment benefits are also being expanded, with instant discount promotions for Alipay, WeChat Pay and UnionPay. From the 13th to the 22nd, shoppers who purchase 500,000 won or more in fashion and beauty products will receive Lotte gift certificates worth 8%.
