GS25 said on the 8th it will roll out five Lunar New Year ready-meal items in stages. The move follows strong demand for Lunar New Year lunchboxes last year. During the Lunar New Year holiday period last year (Jan. 28–30, including the day), the Lunar New Year lunchbox ranked No. 1 in sales. It widened the sales gap with the No. 2 lunchbox by more than double.
Accordingly, GS25 released the "February lunchbox, Lunar New Year edition," a nine-dish traditional meal concept, on the 3rd. Through the 28th, customers can get 50% off when paying with a NongHyup card. It also introduced items such as king dumpling rice cake soup and assorted jeon & japchae.
On the 11th, it plans to add more ready meals using signature holiday side dishes, including holiday tteokgalbi kimchi fried rice and kimbap with whole meat patties. In addition, through the 22nd, it will offer up to 20% off fresh foods needed to prepare Lunar New Year dishes—such as dried persimmons, pollock fillet, dried yellow pollock, and peeled chestnuts—mainly at freshness-enhanced stores.
