Musinsa's SPA (manufacturing and retail integration) line Musinsa Standard will continue expanding its offline distribution network.
Musinsa Standard said on Feb. 4 that it set a goal of reaching its 60th store within the year by adding more than 20 new stores in key domestic hubs and major commercial districts in China this year.
As of late December last year, there were 34 offline locations—33 in Korea and one in China—and the plan is to increase that by more than 70% within a year.
In the domestic market, the brand will begin full-scale entry into key regional commercial districts, including the Seoul metropolitan area, with stores such as the One Grove location and the Starfield Village Unjeong location that opened in January.
In April this year, it will open its first store in Gwangju, followed in the second half by sequential entry into regions, including Jeju, where it previously had no presence.
Musinsa Standard is expected to increase the number of domestic offline stores to 50 by year-end. Offline visitors, which totaled 28 million last year, are projected to reach up to 40 million with an increase in foreign tourist inflows.
It will also push store expansion in major commercial districts in China. In the first half of the year, including Shanghai and Hangzhou, it plans to increase the number of local stores to double digits within the year.
Musinsa Standard is targeting combined domestic and overseas sales of 1 trillion won this year. A Musinsa official said, "We will expand customer touchpoints at home and abroad to rise as a global fashion brand."
