CJ Olive Young (Olive Young) will strengthen marketing and promotions targeting foreign tourists.
Olive Young said on Feb. 2 that it has teamed up with Japan's largest variety store Don Quijote to roll out a new two-month promotion for Japanese customers through Mar. 31.
Customers who verify Don Quijote membership at Olive Young stores will receive a 4,000 won discount coupon usable on purchases of 80,000 won or more and an Olive Young pouch. The promotion runs at 14 stores, including Olive YoungN Seongsu, Myeong-dong Town, and Hongdae Town.
Ahead of the Lunar New Year, China's biggest holiday, Olive Young also prepared discounts tied to easy payment services frequently used by Chinese customers, such as Alipay, WeChat Pay, and UnionPay.
Through Feb. 19, customers who spend 100,000 won or more at Olive Young with UnionPay can receive an immediate discount of 10% (up to 20,000 won). Alipay users can receive a coupon that gives an immediate discount of 15 yuan on purchases of 15 yuan (about 3,100 won) or more from Feb. 5 to 25.
From Feb. 9 to Mar. 7, an event will discount 20, 50, and 80 yuan respectively when paying 200, 500, and 880 yuan via WeChat Pay. For purchases of 188.01 yuan or more by WeChat Pay, Olive Young will also run a drawing for a 188 yuan discount coupon.
Olive Young also prepared additional discounts in partnership with WOWPASS, a payment platform exclusively for foreigners. Regardless of nationality, foreign customers who pay 100,000 won or more with WOWPASS from Feb. 15 to 22 will receive a 5% discount (up to 10,000 won).
In addition, through June 30, customers who book eligible hotels on the global travel booking platform "Trip.com" will receive 5,000 won and 30,000 won discount coupons usable at Olive Young on purchases of 100,000 won and 300,000 won or more, respectively.
