All humidifiers that Starbucks Korea gave to consumers late last year are being recalled.
The National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources said on the 1st that Starbucks Korea will conduct a voluntary recall starting on the 2nd for all units of two humidifier models (STH-600G, STH-600P) given to consumers from October to December last year.
The products subject to this recall were given by Starbucks through its e-frequency promotion from Oct. 30 to Dec. 31 last year, totaling 393,548 units.
The recall decision follows a battery fire in a humidifier that occurred on the 24th of last month. Starbucks Korea reported the incident to the National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Framework Act on Product Safety and, through consultations, decided to carry out a voluntary recall.
The National Institute of Technology and Standards advised that consumers who have the product should stop using it immediately. Product holders can apply for the recall through the official Starbucks Korea website or application (app). Detailed information is also available at the Product Safety Information Center.
