Diageo Korea said on the 26th it will release limited Lunar New Year gift sets and run a discount promotion.
Diageo said it prepared gift sets composed of a variety of products, including blended whisky and single malt whisky, reflecting diverse consumer preferences.
Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker is unveiling reasonably priced Lunar New Year gift sets made up of eight labels. The brand's top lineup, "Johnnie Walker Blue," will be sold as a limited package during the Lunar New Year period, featuring a premium case containing "Johnnie Walker Blue 500㎖," a Glencairn glass, and a glass cap. Johnnie Walker Blue is made by blending top-quality casks selected at a rate of one per 10,000 oak casks across Scotland.
"Johnnie Walker Black" targets consumers with gift sets configured by volume so they can enjoy it according to preference and occasion. The "700㎖ set," well-suited for gatherings, includes two on-the-rocks glasses. The "500㎖ set" is aimed at consumers who want to enjoy whisky lightly as a highball or cocktail, adding one highball glass and a coaster.
"Johnnie Walker Aged 18 Years," made from 18 component whiskies aged 18 years or more, comes with dedicated glasses and a leather bag. The "Johnnie Walker Green," the brand's only blended malt whisky, is packaged with a nosing glass and Bulgarian on-the-rocks glasses so consumers can savor its distinctive forest- and coast-evoking aromas and fresh fruit notes in depth.
"Johnnie Walker XR 21 Years," "Johnnie Walker Gold Reserve," "Johnnie Walker Black Ruby," and "Johnnie Walker Double Black" also come as sets with gifts tailored to each product's characteristics.
Four packages were also prepared for consumers who want to enjoy the distinctive flavors of single malt whisky. "The Singleton 15 Years" features a smooth, balanced profile with a subtle green-apple aroma, making it easy for everyone from newcomers to enthusiasts to enjoy. This year's Singleton 15 Years Lunar New Year gift set includes two "Pasabahce on-the-rocks" glasses.
"Oban 14 Years," produced at a small distillery, is a whisky where sweet honey and orange zest harmonize with smoky notes. This Lunar New Year, it will be offered as a set that includes two Ishizuka glasses made in Japan.
The "Talisker 10 Years" set includes an on-the-rocks glass shaped like the mountains of the Isle of Skye. "Lagavulin 16 Years" will be released as a gift set composed of two Lehmann glasses. Lagavulin 16 Years is aged in American casks, bringing fruit notes into harmony with the brand's distinctive profile.
During the Lunar New Year period, Johnnie Walker's various labels and single malt whiskies sold in limited quantities will be available at hypermarkets and department stores nationwide, liquor shops, convenience stores, smart order, and KakaoTalk Gift.
