Hyundai Department Store said on the 25th it will hold a "2026 Lunar New Year gift set main sales" event from the 30th through Feb. 16.
Hyundai Department Store plans to hold the event at food halls in stores nationwide, including the Apgujeong main branch, and on online malls Thehyundai.com and Hyundai H Mall. It will showcase more than 1,300 premium gifts curated by Hyundai Department Store, including meat, seafood, produce, liquor, and health foods.
Gift sets of premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo, considered a representative premium holiday gift, were increased to more than 100,000 sets, the largest volume ever. Reflecting more diverse customer tastes, Hyundai Department Store said it has assembled the largest-ever lineup, from premium hanwoo gift sets to grilling sets and small-package sets that include various cuts. Accordingly, volumes of grilling gift sets are secured at more than 30% above last Lunar New Year. Small-package hanwoo sets have also been expanded in line with the increase in one- to two-person households.
Fruit gift sets were upgraded with a focus on high-sugar-content and new varieties. In line with changing preferences for holiday fruit gifts, it moved away from traditional apple- and pear-centered assortments and greatly expanded mixed sets of new dessert fruits such as Shine Muscat, apple mango, and hallabong. In addition, instead of plastic cushioning, all fruit gift sets use Honey Cushion, a 100% paper honeycomb-structured buffer, improving eco-friendliness.
For seafood gift sets, it will offer a limited 10 sets of the "Hyundai premium yellow corvina set," composed only of yellow corvina at least 35 centimeters long. It also prepared "Yeonggwang yellow corvina made with Insanja bamboo salt (10 fish)," salted with Insanja bamboo salt by bamboo salt master Insan. In addition, it prepared environmentally friendly gift sets of premium Korean beef, known as hanwoo, raised through nature-friendly methods such as organic livestock, pasture-based ecological livestock, animal welfare, and low carbon, as well as premium ingredients, fermented foods, and traditional liquor.
Jang Woo-seok, executive managing director and head of food business at Hyundai Department Store, said, "We expect demand for giving and receiving premium gifts to rise again this Lunar New Year," and added, "We will do our utmost to manage hygiene and freshness throughout the entire process, from preparing gift sets to ordering and delivery, so customers' gratitude is conveyed intact."
