Daesang said on the 22nd that it signed a business agreement with Boeun County, North Chungcheong Province, to revitalize agricultural product production and distribution. It appears to be moving to pursue mutually beneficial cooperation to strengthen the region's agricultural competitiveness.
According to Daesang, the signing ceremony was held the day before at Boeun County Office in North Chungcheong. On site were Boeun County head Choi Jae-hyeong, Daesang Distribution CIC purchasing director Park Seong-chan, and Daesang product team leader Shin Hyeok-gak.
The agreement was arranged to pioneer stable sales channels and boost consumption for high-quality agricultural products produced in Boeun County, North Chungcheong. Based on the know-how accumulated over 70 years as a comprehensive food company, Daesang plans to actively participate in the entire process from production to distribution and sales, contributing to regional agricultural development.
Under the agreement, Daesang plans to expand distribution channels to promote sales of key agricultural products produced in Boeun County, such as rice and onions. Through this, it aims not only to improve market access for regional agricultural products but also to secure recognition and trust for Boeun County's agricultural goods, and will actively cooperate to create a stable production environment for farms.
In particular, Daesang said it will actively take part in open-field smart farms that can systematically manage cultivation environments and maximize productivity based on data. This is seen as a move to build a virtuous cycle in which production and distribution are organically linked through joint growth with farms.
Daesang Distribution CIC purchasing director Park Seong-chan said, "This agreement is meaningful in that it established a linkage foundation for excellent agricultural products produced in Boeun County, North Chungcheong, to stably expand sales channels within a systematic distribution structure," and added, "We will enhance the competitiveness of regional agriculture by linking Daesang's distribution capabilities accumulated over 70 years with Boeun County's agricultural resources, and create a sustainable win-win model in which farms and corporations grow together."
