Hyundai Home Shopping will open an online ultra-discount outlet. The plan aims to target demand from customers seeking rational spending amid prolonged high inflation.
Hyundai Home Shopping said on the 19th that it will open "D Shop" (discount shop) on the 20th to sell some 40 brands' past-season fashion items at ultra-low prices.
There have been cases of gathering and featuring past-season items on official home shopping online malls, but this is the first time a home shopping company is selling past-season items on an independent platform.
D Shop's offerings will center on Hyundai Home Shopping's private brands (PB) and licensed brands (LB). Prices start at a low of 9,900 won, and the average discount rate is about 70% off the original list price.
A Hyundai Home Shopping official said, "The existing official mall has a strong character of covering mid- to high-priced brands across various categories such as fashion, living, and food, which limited our ability to boost accessibility and visibility for value-for-money fashion."
The person added, "Because D Shop focuses on ultra-low-price fashion, it will be a channel where customers can access special deals more easily and quickly in a high inflation environment."
