GNFood, which operates Goobne Chicken, said on the 14th that it has opened a new store, the "Katy branch," in the Houston area of Texas, the United States. The Katy branch is the second location opened in Texas and opened two years after the first store.
Katy, where the new store is located, is a suburban city west of Houston, Texas. It forms a mixed commercial district that combines residential, commercial, and office functions. In particular, as Asian and Hispanic populations increase, demand for Asian food and Korean food and chicken is rising rapidly, and the area is viewed as having high growth potential.
The signature items at the Katy branch are "UFO chicken" and "Gochu Basasak." UFO chicken features two types of oven-roasted chicken enjoyed with cheese fondue and is popular as a platter configuration that is good for sharing. Gochu Basasak uses a powder containing Cheongyang chili peppers, making it crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and is characterized by a spicy flavor.
Goobne Chicken is offering lunchtime set promotions for office workers and weekend bundle menus for families. It is also strengthening contact points with local customers through collaborations with local schools and churches, the Asian community, and local influencers.
A GNFood official said, "Going forward, we will expand value-for-money, meal-type menus that can be enjoyed conveniently at overseas stores, including in the United States, and establish ourselves as a brand more familiar to local consumers."
