Lotte Mart said on the 14th that starting on the 15th it will launch the "68 pizza" and the "15 hot dog" at all stores and sell them for 6,800 won and 1,500 won, respectively. The two items will be offered twice a day (12 p.m., 5 p.m.) in limited quantities, with stores setting their own ranges of about 25 to 50 pizzas and 60 to 100 hot dogs.
The 68 pizza comes in two types: "68 bulgogi pizza" and "68 pepperoni pizza." It is an oval pizza measuring 25 cm wide and 15 cm long. The dough is made with Korea-grown wheat and topped with plenty of mozzarella cheese.
The 15 hot dog uses a high-quality sausage with more than 95% Korea-produced pork. Pickles and onions are added to highlight a refreshing taste.
To roll out these ultra cost-effective pizzas and hot dogs, Lotte Mart bulk-purchased raw ingredients and redesigned the manufacturing process. The pizzas are delivered frozen so stores can sell them after heating only, and the main materials and supplies such as cheese, flour, pepperoni, and bulgogi were bought in bulk to lower the price. In addition to offline sales, the company also takes online orders to maintain appropriate production volumes and minimize waste, improving the efficiency of raw-ingredient operations.
The 15 hot dog is configured with only essential materials and supplies—bread, sausage, pickles, and onions—to secure price competitiveness. In addition, the sausage, pickles, and onions used as fillings are brought in prepped for immediate cooking, improving labor-cost efficiency.
In addition, from the 15th to the 21st, Lotte Mart will sell key deli foods such as sushi and chicken at reasonable prices. It will offer a 30% discount for L.Point members on five popular sushi items including "large sushi (20 pieces)" and "ALL NEW shrimp sushi (20 pieces)," and sell the "NEW Hantonggaaadeuk chicken (pack)" for under 10,000 won.
Lee Chae-hyeon, an MD (merchandiser) on the Lotte Mart and Super deli development team, said, "As dining out and delivery prices rise, customer demand for cost-effective deli items they can enjoy right in the store continues to grow," adding, "We will continue to roll out products and run discount promotions focused on foods with high price sensitivity to ease the burden on shoppers' baskets."
