CJ Wellcare said on the 12th that it has released a new product, "Black Lemon Stick."
Black Lemon Stick adds lemon to black ginseng (蔘) to reduce bitterness and comes in a stick format for easier consumption. Inspired by the everyday consumption trend of lemon-based products such as lemon juice and lemon olive, it uses organic lemons from Spain. It appears aimed in particular at people unfamiliar with ginseng products, including Millennials and Gen Z (born from the late 1980s to the early 2000s).
For the black ginseng ingredient, CJ Wellcare used a black ginseng concentrate made with its patented "gujeung gupo" method. By steaming and drying domestic fresh ginseng nine times each over a total of 45 days, the company increased the total ginsenoside content, and the product features low-molecular-weight ginsenosides that are easy to absorb.
Earlier, timed to the Lunar New Year holiday season, CJ Wellcare has been offering an exclusive pre-sale on CJ The Market since on the 24th. It plans to gradually expand sales channels to Naver and Coupang.
