Lotte Mart said on the 7th that it reopened its Da Nang and Nha Trang stores in Vietnam on the 1st. The move is aimed at strengthening store competitiveness in key tourist city hubs.
The reopened stores focus on strengthening grocery. The Da Nang store expanded its food section area by about 30% from before, while the Nha Trang store reorganized its sales floor and shopping flow and bolstered its assortment around core food items.
It will expand products based on direct sourcing from production areas, centered on its private-label fresh brand "FRESH 365." It has improved overall product freshness from produce such as bananas, potatoes, and bell peppers to seafood and meat. FRESH 365 products will be expanded to more than 110 items this year.
It is also introducing a "global fresh zone" that brings together premium fresh foods from overseas. It will reinforce RTE (ready to eat) items centered on cut fruit and salads, including more than 10 types of imported fruits such as Korean strawberries and New Zealand cherries. It also created a salmon special zone, a Wagyu zone, and an Australian beef zone.
It will also respond to local demand for Korean food. At the "Yorihada Kitchen," a store specialized in ready-to-cook foods, it will offer more than 350 deli items. It will increase the share of items such as kimbap and tteokbokki to around 20%. At the Nha Trang store, it will newly introduce local wraps using Nha Trang specialties.
The H&B (health and beauty) store spans Korean and Vietnamese local brands. It is introducing Korean brands such as "VT" and "TFIT," which have high recognition among local Millennials and Gen Z, and expanding the scale of cosmetic products by 30% from before to a total of more than 1,200 items.
Lotte Mart has established a stable foothold in the Southeast Asian retail market and is currently operating a total of 63 stores (15 in Vietnam and 48 in Indonesia). In the second half, it will add two new stores in Vietnam. In Indonesia, it plans to increase hybrid stores that combine wholesale and retail functions.
