On the 1st, Chairperson Chung Ji-sun of Hyundai Department Store Group said, "Let's strengthen the momentum for sustainable growth by leveraging the group's accumulated, fundamental competitiveness."
Through a New Year's address that day, Chung said, "This year as well, global trade frictions, geopolitical conflicts, and technological hegemony battles are likely to continue, creating an unpredictable and unstable situation," and stated accordingly.
Chung said, "In a management environment with growing uncertainty, it is important to strengthen an agile execution system that tries quickly and corrects and supplements swiftly," adding, "We need to promptly detect signs of change in the market and among customers to adjust our businesses flexibly, and when necessary, make bold decisions."
Chung continued, "Trust the expertise and drive we have accumulated, look to the possibilities, and move forward with confidence toward greater growth for the company and for individuals."
Chung also said, "Society has recently been demanding an even higher level of responsibility and standards," emphasizing, "We must adopt compliance, safety, and transparent management as key principles and spare no proactive investments so we can become corporations that have a positive impact on society."
Chung said, "We have worked to stabilize the holding company structure and prepare new businesses without setbacks," adding, "I am grateful to each affiliate and all executives and employees who helped spread a creative organizational culture across the group, such as the duty-free division's document-centralized digital workplace and home shopping's open innovation through external collaboration."
Chung added, "There is a saying, 'You can't know the depth without jumping into the water,'" and said, "Let's execute proactively throughout the year and, at times, use failure to draw together the direction we should pursue."
