Convenience store CU said on the 29th it will release the Zootopia Ice Bar, which brings to life as an actual product the ice cream that appears in Disney's animated film "Zootopia," on Jan. 7 next year.
The Zootopia Ice Bar is inspired by the strawberry popsicle sold by the fox character Nick in the film. It features a unique paw-shaped look that faithfully recreates its on-screen appearance. It is a fruit-flavored ice bar containing 10% strawberry purée and 100 mg of vitamin C, and uses natural coloring to reproduce the color of the popsicle in the film.
This ice cream had been a limited menu item available only at select theme parks, including Shanghai Disneyland.
CU said it plans to use this launch to expand the film's universe into everyday consumption experiences and strengthen differentiation of character IP products. CU previously introduced Secret Zootopia, a chocolate product featuring Zootopia characters. Combining chocolate snacks and a random toy, each package includes one 3D figure from nine Zootopia characters and one sticker from 20 types at random.
