Shinsegae I&C said on the 26th that it confirmed signs that information on employees and some partner company staff was leaked from Shinsegae Group's internal intranet system.
The leaked information confirmed so far is understood to include employee numbers for about 80,000 people and, for some, names, affiliated departments, and IP addresses. It was confirmed that there was no customer information leak.
Shinsegae I&C carried out an emergency inspection and blocking measures on the related systems and accounts immediately after recognizing the incident. It also reported the matter to the relevant authorities and plans to investigate the exact cause and scope of impact going forward.
In addition, Shinsegae I&C notified employees of the matter through an internal notice and asked them to change their business system account passwords and pay close attention to suspicious emails.
A Shinsegae I&C official said, "While actively cooperating with the relevant authorities' investigation, we plan to further strengthen our security management system."
