Nongshim said on the 24th that the Shin Ramyun ad released with global ambassador aespa surpassed a cumulative 130 million views on YouTube.
On the 19th, about a month after the ad was released, Nongshim analyzed that the performance was the result of combining Shin Ramyun's brand power with aespa's global influence. Nongshim evaluated it as the Shin Ramyun commercial with the highest number of views to date.
The ad drew attention for breaking away from the conventional ramen commercial format and being produced in a music video style. The ad's background music is a remake of Spice Girls' "Spice up your life," expressing Shin Ramyun's global slogan, "Spicy Happiness In Noodles."
Along with the ad, Nongshim is sequentially introducing the "Shin Ramyun aespa special package," featuring the aespa members, starting in China in November and then in Korea, Australia, and other countries. The multipack features a group image of aespa, and each single pack features an individual member's image. Inside the package, a photo card with the members' photos and handwriting is enclosed.
A Nongshim official said, "This surpassing of 100 million views is a case that shows Shin Ramyun has established itself as more than just food and as a cultural icon in the global market," adding, "We will continue to work with aespa to further solidify the image of Shin Ramyun as a leading K-food brand among fans worldwide."
