Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baemin, said on the 23rd that it launched a "reserve for tomorrow" service at all Baemin B Mart stores.
The reserve for tomorrow service lets customers choose a time in one-hour increments to place a delivery order. Because customers can specify the time to receive items the next day in one-hour increments, they can prepare their grocery shopping for the next day at their convenience no matter when they order during the day.
This appears to target a niche in the next-day delivery market within the existing e-commerce sector. Under the existing next-day delivery model, customers had to complete orders by the previous night's cutoff to receive them the next day, and it was difficult to pinpoint the delivery time, making it hard for customers to predict the exact time of receipt, Baemin said.
If customers use "reserve for tomorrow" during Baemin B Mart operating hours (from opening to midnight), they can receive items at their desired time the next day. If they order during non-operating hours (from midnight until opening), they can set the delivery time for their desired time that same day. As before, they can also check real-time delivery status in the app.
Woowa Brothers plans to expand service coverage nationwide through this service expansion. Lee Hyo-jin, head of the commerce division at Woowa Brothers, said, "With the launch of this 'reserve for tomorrow' service, we have gone beyond immediate delivery to enable customers to plan their grocery shopping for the time slot they want," adding, "We will continue to roll out innovative grocery shopping experiences tailored to customers' lifestyles."
