The menswear brand "Amopre," which drew attention when broadcaster Cho Sae-ho joined as creative director, will shut down its business four years after launch.
According to the fashion industry on the 23rd, Kolon FnC will wind down the brand after the fall-winter 2025 season as its brand operation contract with Cho Sae-ho expires at the end of this month. Currently, when you click on the Amopre mall on the Kolon FnC official website, a notice reads "page not found."
Amopre was launched in 2021 when Kolon FnC teamed up with Cho Sae-ho, promoting practical designs for the "average Korean male body type." Cho Sae-ho took part from the planning stage and has led the brand by unveiling graphic apparel using his signature.
With Cho Sae-ho recently stepping down from shows he was appearing on over a private life controversy, some view this as the brand effectively drawing a line. Cho Sae-ho recently left some variety programs after allegations surfaced of his ties to a crime syndicate that ran an illegal gambling site and suspicions over promoting a related franchise.
A Kolon FnC official denied any link to recent issues, saying it was "a decision made naturally as the contract period with Mr. Cho Sae-ho expired."
