Nongshim said on the 22nd that it will officially launch the new product "Shin Ramyun Gold" on Jan. 2 ahead of the 40th anniversary of Shin Ramyun in 2026.
Shin Ramyun Gold is a ramen that combines chicken broth, one of the key flavors in the global ramen market, with Shin Ramyun's uniquely Korean spiciness. Nongshim explained that, to mark the 40th anniversary of Shin Ramyun, it is a strategic product reflecting Nongshim's intention to expand globally.
Shin Ramyun Gold features chicken broth layered with Shin Ramyun's signature spice. It delivers a distinctive aroma that harmonizes with the chicken stock using turmeric and cumin, and, according to Nongshim, enhances texture with abundant toppings such as bok choy, egg flakes, and chili-flavored garnish.
Nongshim launched "Shin Ramyun Chicken," an overseas-only product, in 2023 and has been selling it in various countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, and Malaysia. The newly launched Shin Ramyun Gold upgrades the flavor of Shin Ramyun Chicken, which has been validated overseas, to suit domestic consumers' tastes.
To mark the 40th anniversary of Shin Ramyun in 2026, Nongshim plans to strengthen the Shin Ramyun brand value through "glocal (global + local)" marketing that breaks down the boundaries between global and local. In fact, it is continuing various variations by expanding Shin Ramyun's flavor range more globally with products such as Shin Ramyun Tom Yum, Shin Toomba, and Shin Ramyun kimchi fried noodles.
A Nongshim official said, "Shin Ramyun Gold combines the clean taste of chicken broth enjoyed around the world with the spiciness of Shin Ramyun to deliver a culinary experience that is familiar yet new," adding, "To mark the 40th anniversary of Shin Ramyun, starting with Shin Ramyun Gold, we will take the lead in expanding the realm of global K-ramen through diverse brand marketing and promotions."
