Korea McDonald's said on the 19th that it will open the Paju Unjeong Gyoha branch. With this, a McDonald's store will return to the Paju area for the first time in more than 20 years.
Paju's population reaches 500,000. Among them, Unjeong New Town, where about 300,000 people form a single living zone, is cited as a place where the city's scale is growing rapidly. Demand for McDonald's stores has been known to be high, centered on local residents.
Based on this, Korea McDonald's has closely reviewed the details of entering the Paju area under a long-term store-opening strategy. In particular, it appears positive that Unjeong New Town is a densely populated area of newlyweds and families with young children in terms of household composition.
The Paju Unjeong Gyoha branch is about 100 pyeong with around 110 seats. It is a standard store, not a drive-thru (DT), and is located close to nearby residential complexes and daily-life infrastructure for customer accessibility and convenience. With a large parking area, it is designed so that both dine-in and takeout customers can use it conveniently.
A McDonald's official said, "As we are greeting you again for the first time in more than 20 years, we will do our best to become a store that grows together with the local community," adding, "We are also reviewing the possibility of additional store openings in Paju going forward."
